We have worked very hard at achieving a balance between making money and living in harmony with our environment, and we do not want to disturb it. Since we opened for business, we have mposes a limit on the number of groups and or visitors we get each year. This translates to, usually, no more than twelve groups per year (depending on the size of the groups)

In order to limit the social and environmental impacts of ecological tourism, we favor groups larger than 8 persons. This decreases the number of groups we need to get in order to make the money we need to live comfortably.

Reservations and getting here. If you, or your group, are like most visitors coming to Ecuador you'll end up in Otavalo to witness the famous Indian Market (which is less and less purely Indian but nevertheless worth going to). We are only about 2-3 hours from Otavalo, on the Cuicocha-Apuela road. Make sure you have reservations before coming to our reserve, as we do not accept walk-ins (we treasure the tranquility out here)

The cost of staying at the reserve are as follows:

• For groups of 8 or more people: $50 per person plus taxes

These prices include all meals and guided walks in the forest. Special fares are avilable for large groups.

You MUST make a reservation beforehand or we will not be able to accommodate you, this restriction applies to all size groups.
